1. About Earn Your Cap

Earn Your Cap is an interactive mobile application organised by the Royal Belgian Football Association, hereinafter referred to as “RBFA”.

The App accompanies visitors during the Earn Your Cap experience at the Proximus Basecamp. At different locations, users can unlock interactive experiences, videos, behind-the-scenes stories and player testimonials.

QR codes displayed outside the App may direct users to the App or its download page. The App does not use its camera to scan QR codes.

The App is published through the Google Play developer account of yondr Agency BV.

RBFA is the organiser of the experience and the data controller for the App. yondr Agency BV acts as the technical developer, maintainer and Google Play publisher.

2. Information We Collect

Earn Your Cap does not require users to create an account, register or provide personal information.

RBFA and yondr Agency BV do not collect or retain names, email addresses, contact details, account information, scores, photographs, audio recordings or other information that directly identifies users through the App.

The App does not use analytics, advertising, crash-reporting or user-tracking services. Analytics and diagnostic services provided by Unity or other third parties are disabled.

Limited technical information is processed temporarily when video content is streamed, as explained in Section 5.

3. Information Stored on Your Device

The App stores limited information locally on the user’s device to provide and remember its functionality. This includes:

Progress within the Earn Your Cap experience
Language preferences

This information remains on the user’s device and is not transmitted to RBFA or yondr Agency BV.

Locally stored information remains on the device until:

The user deletes the App
The user clears the App’s data through the device settings
The information is removed through Android’s storage management functionality

Depending on the user’s Android device and settings, Android may include locally stored App information in a device or account backup. These backups are managed by Android and Google in accordance with the user’s device and account settings.

4. Camera Access and Augmented Reality

The App requests access to the device’s camera to provide interactive augmented reality experiences.

The camera is used for:

Recognising Augmented Images within the physical experience
Positioning augmented reality content
Supporting interactive 360-degree video experiences

Camera images are processed live and locally on the user’s device. The App does not take photographs or record, retain, upload or share camera footage.

The augmented reality functionality uses Unity AR Foundation and Google ARCore. Recognition and tracking for the Earn Your Cap experience take place locally on the device.

Camera access is activated only when the user chooses to open an experience requiring the camera and grants the required permission through Android.

Users can withdraw camera permission at any time through their device settings. Disabling camera access will prevent camera-based augmented reality experiences from working.

The App does not access or use the device’s microphone.

5. Video Streaming and Internet Connectivity

Certain video content is streamed through external web-hosting infrastructure provided by Combell.

When the App connects to the hosting server, the user’s IP address is processed temporarily as technically necessary to establish the connection and deliver the requested video content.

This technical processing is used exclusively to play the requested videos. It is not used by RBFA or yondr Agency BV for analytics, advertising, profiling, user tracking or marketing.

No App account information, scores, locally stored progress, camera images or audio recordings are transmitted to the video server.

RBFA and yondr Agency BV do not retain App-specific IP address logs or viewing histories for these video streams.

An internet connection is required to play externally hosted video content. Other locally available functionality may remain accessible without an internet connection.

6. Third-Party Technologies and Service Providers

The App uses the following technologies and service providers:

Unity, as the game engine used to develop and operate the App
Unity AR Foundation, to enable augmented reality functionality
Google ARCore, to support local augmented reality recognition and tracking
Combell, to provide the web-hosting infrastructure from which video content is streamed

Unity analytics, Unity advertising, Unity cloud diagnostics and Unity crash-reporting services are disabled.

The App does not use third-party advertising, behavioural analytics or user-tracking SDKs.

Google Play, Android, Google Play Services for AR and the user’s operating system may independently process limited technical information in accordance with their own terms, privacy policies and the user’s device and account settings. This processing is managed by the respective platform provider.

7. Children’s Privacy

Children under the age of 13 may participate in the Earn Your Cap experience and use the App.

The App does not require children or other users to create an account or provide their name, email address, age, date of birth, contact details or other directly identifying information.

The App does not knowingly collect, retain or share personal information from children for analytics, advertising, profiling or marketing purposes.

The camera is used exclusively to enable Augmented Image recognition, augmented reality experiences and interactive 360-degree video experiences. Camera images are processed live and locally on the device and are not recorded, retained, uploaded or shared by the App.

When video content is streamed, an IP address is processed temporarily as technically necessary to deliver the requested content. It is not used by RBFA or yondr Agency BV to identify, profile or track children or other users.

If a parent or legal guardian has questions about the App’s privacy practices, they may contact RBFA using the contact information below.

8. Data Retention and Deletion

RBFA and yondr Agency BV do not maintain user accounts or retain personal information collected through the App on their servers.

Locally stored progress, language preferences and audio settings can be deleted by:

Clearing the App’s data through the Android device settings
Uninstalling the App

Because the App does not provide user accounts, no account deletion procedure is required.

Technical information temporarily processed to stream video content is not retained by RBFA or yondr Agency BV as an App-specific viewing history.

9. Security

Camera images and augmented reality tracking information are processed locally on the user’s device.

Locally stored progress and preference information are not transmitted to servers operated by RBFA or yondr Agency BV.

Video content is delivered using the web-hosting infrastructure provided by Combell. RBFA and yondr Agency BV take reasonable technical and organisational measures to ensure that the App and its content-delivery mechanisms function in accordance with the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

Access to information stored locally on the device is governed by the security features of the user’s device and Android operating system.

10. General RBFA Privacy Statement

This Privacy Policy applies specifically to the Earn Your Cap App.

RBFA’s general privacy statement may apply separately when users interact with other RBFA websites, applications, memberships, ticketing services or platforms. Those broader processing activities do not mean that the same information is collected through Earn Your Cap.

11. Changes to This Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated when the App, its functionality, its service providers or applicable legal requirements change.

Any changes will be published on this page and reflected by updating the “Last updated” date at the beginning of the Privacy Policy.
